Corporate Retreats
Organizations commonly use retreats as information sessions, to acquire input and
feedback on issues, and to launch strategic initiatives ..all of which are highly useful!
What's less common are retreats that cause new behaviors and generate initiatives that go
beyond business as usual.
Dorrier Underwood consultants create opportunities for your team to discover new ways
to relate to each other and your organization. We generate the momentum required to produce
breakthroughs in productivity and company performance, using approaches that are rigorous,
intriguing, and fun.
Clients typically conduct Corporate Retreats for:
- Opening up communications & unifying teams
- Aligning teams on corporate Vision and Mission
- Determining strategies for accomplishing Mission
- Developing succession plans for next generation of leadership
- Initiating breakthrough projects
Dorrier Underwood's process honors everyone's contribution, breaks down
walls of office politics, and generates creative work sessions that actually produce
results. Here's how we do it:
- Collaborate with the person accountable for the outcomes of the
retreat (the champion) to clarify the goals for the retreat;
- Interview participants prior to the retreat to have people state their
goals for the retreat and elicit their full engagement and participation; and
- Engage participants in follow up conversations to make sure the actions
created at the retreat are actually being carried out.

My goal for the retreat – which we accomplished
– was to prepare for operationalizing our future, and we actually articulated
some steps for how we’re going to get there. Plus you gave us a new tool, the
Breakdown Technology, to deal with obstacles and we’re already using it. Here’s
the thing: we’re not arguing anymore about the vision. The “victimhood” of the
past is officially over. The future is more organic because it’s being built
by the team. ~ Jesse Milan, Jr. Vice President and Director
