Ginny Brien
Ginny Brien joined Dorrier Underwood in 2005 through a series of happy synchronicities and her commitment to making a difference with people and organizations.
As marketing director, she is the glue that holds Dorrier Underwood together, always listening for possibilities hidden within other people's commitments. Ginny is out to make a difference with her family, her work team, the community and larger world. She is willing to operate outside her comfort zone and allows her creativity to add color to the Dorrier Underwood Team.
After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a degree in English and concentration in French translation, she worked as a freelance researcher and development assistant, eventually specializing in grassroots fundraising and public relations for non-profits. A wordsmith by calling, her writing now finds outlets in introducing others to the work of Dorrier Underwood, documenting client achievements, and in a novel about a family who must come to terms with their conflicting values when their son is injured in Vietnam.
A life-long learner and gifted teacher, she has led workshops on subjects ranging from disaster relief to nutrition, spiritual gifts, homeopathy, pregnancy, and birth. Ginny is a native Charlottean who loves gardening, singing, pickup trucks, and conversations that go below the surface.
She and her husband John are the parents of three multilingual teens whose languages range from German and Japanese to C++ and Visual Basic (computers speak this). After English, Ginny's favorite language is Possibility.
